Placing an outdoor rug in your patio is a great way to transform the space. Larger sizes are recommended and the rug should fully cover any tables and chairs you have set up. Another great space for an outdoor rug is just by the pool providing an oasis to catch some rays.
Here, you'll always want your rug to extend well beyond the table and chairs, keeping chair legs from catching on the rug when pulled in and out. An 8 x 10 rug is a common choice under a rectangular dining table.
Kitchens get a lot of foot traffic, so a small 2 x 3 rug in front of the sink keeps the space tidy while adding some support where it s needed. Alternatively, if you have a galley kitchen or an island, a runner makes a perfect floor covering for the full length of the space. Add a runner to your entryway if the space allows to add color and depth.
For an open floor plan, an area rug that fully extends under all of the furniture is a great way to define the space. An 8 x 10 rug or larger is ideal. If your space is smaller or your larger pieces of furniture are up against the wall, having a rug just under the front two legs of your largest pieces will make the room look larger. A 5 x 7 rug or larger will usually work for this arrangement.
This elegant indoor/outdoor all-weather area rug collection offers everything you need to complete the ultimate outdoor room. Customer reviewsEnjoying these rugs
I reviewed many indoor/outdoor rugs looking for something for my screened in porch. I can't speak to long term wear but I am very happy so far with how this is working out. The weave is very tight and the colors are strong. Note that while it looks navy and white, it is navy and cream. That was my only mistake - I read so many reviews I thought that this one was navy and white. However, now that I'm using it the bit the cream is fine and, in fact, will probably be better for dirt build up and pollen next spring I have not had to wash it yet, but a quick sweep with a broom takes anything off nicely. Also, it and the other one I bought are lightweight enough that I can pick them up and bring them inside for any reason. Recently we had a severe storm and the edge of the larger rug got quite wet. I was pleased with how fast it dried and it did not retain any dirt. Happy with my purchase So I'm adding this - I bought 3 all together- The 2'3" x 4"6" has thinner stripes which looks nice as the larger ones would look odd at this size. Together they look great on my screened-in porch
