It s a basic rug.I needed a basic inexpensive rug for a space next to my bed. It fits the bill. Construction seems to be solid, although the thickness appears to be less than described. It s not soft like a pile rug, but it s also not uncomfortable or even noticeable when I step on it. I have it lying over a hardwood floor without a pad underneath. Also, it seems to provide insulation against the coldness of the wood floor in the morning.
